After all the subtle ways, Full Access Administrator will get you access.

I don't know exactly how to do this for more than a handful of docs, but the way I got it enabled was to open up Domino Administrator.

There's a menu selection that'll promote you to full access administrator.

After that you can go into the DB & you should be able to see the doc.

No promises outside of Domino Admin. I know there are multiple logins whenever I'm logged into Domino Admin, so there may not be a way to look at read-controlled docs outside of Admin any more.
